We present a list of the 10 best SEO tools of 2022. You will find free and paid tools. It is currently essential to do both SEO on Page and off Page. These are the tools that SEO professionals use.
Having the best SEO tools becomes essential when working professionally in this activity. The time savings on repetitive tasks is enormous. We are going to see some free tools and some paid ones.
That is why I have come to Rafa Ramos’ blog today, to talk to you about the SEO tools that I think are essential.
What is SEO Tools, and what are they for?
SEO tools are websites, applications, SaaS… that give us relevant information about a domain very efficiently. We can analyze thousands of data in a matter of minutes, which manually could take hours and hours. SEO tools make us gain efficiency in analysis, especially when we have several clients.
Online SEO tools give us data on the domain, each URL, SEO On Page, SEO Off Page, link-building strategies, competition… This analysis could be endless or impossible to carry out by a person or company without a high technical level.
Now yes, let’s go with the 10 SEO tools!
Google SEO Tools
We are going to start with Google’s free SEO tools at least in 2022. On the one hand, we are going to be able to analyze user behavior on the site, how SEO is progressing in our domain and which keywords are trending.
1. Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a free tool that Google offers us, which is essential when working with SEO.
In the first place, we can think that it is simply a tool to see the number of visits we have on our website, but Google Analytics gives us much more information if we know how to squeeze it.
We can obtain information about our audience such as language, device from which they access (pc, mobile, tablet…), country of origin, city of origin, etc.
This information can be beneficial for us to know exactly what type of audience accesses the web and therefore define the target audience we have. It will also help us to be able to create audiences in paid advertising much more easily.
It is also very important to know the origin of the traffic on our website if it comes from search engines, direct traffic, referrals, social networks, etc. This way, we will be able to control how the different channels are working and check which channels we have better conversions with, among other things.
In the same way, it is very interesting to control actions on our website through events to have a history in the site’s analytics. It is a magnificent SEO tool to improve not only the positioning.
In short, there are many options we can review in Google Analytics that will be really useful throughout developing our SEO strategies.
2. Google Search Console
Google Search Console is a free Google tool to which we can add our web pages. Despite this, it is one of the best SEO tools out there.
Once we add a website, on the one hand, we have the informative part where we will be informed of the number of clicks we receive from Google, CTR, coverage problems in the search engine, different types of errors, etc.
On the other hand, we will also have options such as sending Google to inspect and index URLs (although now it works like a pedal), sending sitemaps to Google, requesting removal of URLs, international SEO configuration, etc.
In short, it is one more action tool with which, on the one hand, we will have useful information that will help us and give us clues at the SEO level, and on the other hand, action options related to Google. Probably one of the best SEO tools.
3. GoogleTrends
Google Trends is another tool offered by Google completely free of charge.
Thanks to this tool, we can see information on keyword search trends in the search engine. It is an essential SEO tool to get content that is trending.
It will allow us to see the historical trend depending on the country and autonomous communities, which will help us identify trends, seasonality, etc.
Without a doubt, another tool to take into account.
Free SEO Tools
Among the best free SEO tools, we can even find limited versions of the paid ones, but many are really not worth it, as they are very limited. We offer you a free tool to find long-tail keywords.
4. Answer the public
Answer the public is a free SEO tool, but it can play a significant role for us.
Its functionality gives us options of possible questions that the user can ask based on the main keyword.
In this way, we will be able to obtain ideas to work on those long tails and search intentions.
Very useful both when studying keywords and when attacking search intentions.
Paid SEO Tools
Paid SEO tools are the best way to do professional SEO while optimizing time. Although there are free versions of these tools, they are intended for novice users, not professionals with multiple projects to support.
5. SE Ranking
SE Ranking is more than a single tool, I would identify it as an SEO Swiss army knife that serves you for a lot of things.
On the one hand, it has a built-in keyword tracker to control the evolution of the positions of the keywords of our projects, which is great and also saves us from hiring a separate tracking tool.
On the other hand, it has a series of tools that will help us on a day-to-day basis in SEO, such as the study of our competitors’ websites, showing us keywords that rank, links, paid advertisements, etc., being able to study search volumes, personalized reports: backlink status monitoring, social media control, traffic analytics, competitors’ comparisons, and more.
Undoubtedly, it is one of my favorite SEO tools and comes at a very affordable price.
6. Ahrefs
Ahrefs is another of those tools that you should take into account when working on SEO.
Ahrefs (AL) has always been known for link building as the best SEO tool. However, it is another excellent suite of SEO tools.
With Ahrefs, you can also study your competition, see search volumes, study links, compare with competitors, and much more.
In addition, it has a “bulk” review option for websites that allows you to compare data from up to 200 websites at once.
As if that were not enough, this suite has a series of free SEO tools to carry out some basic tests.
7. SEMrush
Continuing with the SEMrush tool suites, it is another of the great ones known for working with SEO. Probably the best SEO tool when it comes to keyword research.
Although SEMrush has options for studying the competition, search volumes, checking links, comparisons, etc., like the rest of the tools., it also includes other tools for text analysis, web optimization, off-page SEO, etc., in its suite.
It is another complete SEO analysis tool from which you always find new features you did not know until now.
8. Screaming Frog
Screaming Frog is one of those considered crawling tools.
With this tool, you will be able to crawl your entire website in order to try to get to the bottom of all the URLs that your website has.
This will allow the tool to give you data on all those URLs. Which ones generate 4XX errors. Which ones generate 3XX redirects, similar content URLs, duplicate titles or meta descriptions, missing titles or meta descriptions. H1 tags that are too big or missing, mixed content issues, very heavy images, images without an alt tag.
Without a doubt, thanks to Screaming Frog, we can conduct an exhaustive analysis of our website and its status. It’s also one of those free SEO tools if you don’t need to analyze very large sites.
9. Screaming Frog Log File Analyzer
Screaming Frog Log File Analyzer is a tool you may not want to use for all projects, but you will find it very useful for some.
Thanks to the tool, we will be able to see exactly what Google Bot is doing on our website, which areas it is accessing more frequently, which areas it has forgotten the most, where it is finding 4XX errors or 3XX redirects, etc.
It will help us understand what Google does on our website, which areas give it more value, which ones less, which ones it tracks and should not, etc.
As I mentioned at the beginning, it is not a tool that is useful for all websites since, if you have a website of a local service with 10 URLs, the website must be very bad for you to have this type of problem.
10. LEOlytics
LEOlytics is an indispensable tool when it comes to working on link-building strategies.
At first glance, it may seem like a tool to acquire links for your website. However, it goes much further.
Besides having sites from many countries and of very high quality, it also has a super useful tool called Smart LEO Tool.
This tool that uses AI and data mining will help you find semantically related sites to your web page.
In this way, you will save yourself the trouble of searching for semantically related sites or having at least one area of your theme to have a high affinity to your website.
It is something that I love since, as we know,r everything that saves time in our sector is more than welcome.
Conclusions about the best SEO tools
Although this time, I have recommended 10 SEO tools, free and paid. I have to say that many tools can be helpful, but it would be impossible to mention them all in one post.
However, I have to say that if you have not tried all the tools that I have mentioned in this post, you are going to have a few days of research ahead of you and try them.
